MacGuffin: Gritt McGrunt Grabs Gary's Goods

When I released the MacGuffin system rules document I have wanted to have a pre-made adventure module available for potential players to showcase the system. And at the time, I was thinking it would probably be a small fantasy adventure more in line with Dungeons & Dragons or similar TTRPGs. But I didn't want to lock MacGuffin into that niche. So I'm making a heist.
Gritt McGruntt Grabs Gary's Goods is an adventure module currently in development for the MacGuffin ttrpg system. The module covers everything that players need in order to carry out their own heist under the direction of tough-as-nails master thief Gritt McGrunt. The heist? Gary Goldengoose's underworld casino, The Goose Golden Egg.
Players will need to create characters with the skills and personality necessary to infiltrate the casino, breach its most secure areas, and make it out alive with any of Goldengoose's most treasured items. With Gritt's "master plan" as the MacGuffin at their disposal, players are encouraged to both plan out their heist and play fast and loose when things go wrong. Even if the heist goes sideways, it's always according to plan (provided you don't fail your MacGuffin rolls).
The adventure is intended as an entry level way to explore MacGuffin as a system. As such, the module is intended for rank 1 play. GMs can adjust the difficulty as needed, of course, if they feel that the adventure is too easy or difficult for particular play groups. Players can also make different characters and explore different avenues of success in accomplishing the heist if they fail their first attempt or only achieve partial success. The heist itself should not take longer than 1-2 hours to run as it currently exists, including character creation time. Play time will be adjustable, as certain elements of the heist, such as the “Stage 0” part of the heist can be omitted in favor of getting directly to the heist itself.
Due to development constraints (I’m literally the only person working on this atm), release date is not yet clear. But it shouldn’t be too long, as much of it is already complete. I will provide more updates as I continue to reach milestones for the module, but probably not too many as there isn’t too much to be done. Until then, I’ll share a little teaser: the blank floor plan to The Goose’s Golden Egg.
